Year One
Two days ago marked the first year of this website (counting from the day I bought the domain). Sadly, I didn’t do much with this platform besides loosely updating my favorite quotes from The Anthropocene Reviewed, which isn’t even updated daily. Even the book review section has only one review? Damn it. The other book I want to review is still in draft, and if I don’t finish it by the end of this year, that’d be messed up.
Anyway, I should explore more interesting stuff and share it here, but I’m too lazy and full of excuses. Actually, there are so many things I want to try: maybe creating a simple game, building a network protocol from scratch, making physics animations, electronics, art, read more books, whatever. So many things I want to do. I just need to be disciplined. Discipline is what it takes to start and finish anything.
Or maybe I’m just in a phase where I don’t really have strong motivation at work, but I’m also too lazy to do side things. Maybe I’m bored? Nah, there’s still so much to learn. So yeah, that’s probably just another excuse.
Anyway, I just bought a pixel art commission from @cowusapi. I’m really happy with the result and it was surprisingly cheap. Shout out to her. I guess I need a more serious internet handle for the favicon rather than just some AI-generated slop.
Did anything interesting happen this year? Maybe I’ll save that for another story. For now, let’s finish this year strong.
